As a group of rowdy second graders takes a trip to the aquarium, they soon come to pity the trapped sea lion, Slappy, and try to figure out a way to set him free. Pursued by a villain who wants to sell Slappy to a circus, they must decide how to get Slappy from the bathtub of one of them and to the sea.
