When Lt. Commander Tom Dodge is appointed Captain to the USS Stingray, a vintage, diesel-powered, shabby submarine, it seems that it's not the only problem. The submarine enters naval training with the atomic powered USS Orlando, whereupon Tom has to defy all circumstances and prove himself.
