The green ogre (Shrek) lives in the swamps alone until one day he finds all the characters of the fairy tales sleeping in his swamps. He goes to Lord (Farquaad) with donkey to make them leave, but (Farquaad) sends him to save Princess (Fiona) who's locked in a castle tower guarded by a dragon.
