Eddie Boyd returns from World War II, thinking he is going to be appreciated, but is surprised by the contrary. As there is a general ignorance towards all war heroes, and all his dreams of becoming a Hollywood star are shattered. After he gets very disappointed, he resorts to robbing banks, which leads to a tragedy.
