1st Episode

In 1945 Damascus, both Sobhiya and Karima start having labor pains. As Sobhiya dies in childbirth, Umm Abdullah decides to claim that Sobhiya died before giving birth and that Karima gave birth to twins to spare Sobhiya's baby the pain of being an orphan. Gharib refuses to take a second wife.

2nd Episode

Karima insists that she gave birth to only one child. Umm Omran (Omran's mother) refuses to have Qamar prepare Sobhiya for burial. Gharib keeps having nightmares. Khadija, Omran's first wife, is angry that Umm Omran didn't give her Sobhiya's son to raise.

3rd Episode

Karima tells her mother that her mother-in-law forced her to mother both children. Omran accuses Shehada of robbing the store. Khadija is saddened by her inability to have a child. Shehada and Eid vow revenge on Omran. Ass'ad advises Gharib to consult a psychiatrist about his nightmares.

4th Episode

Gharib's wife Fatma is afraid after she sells her land to Mar'ei. Abu Mar'ei (Mar'ei's father) is surprised that Fatma and Gharib approved the selling. Gharib decides to go to the Levant. Omran admires an Egyptian doctor who lives with her family in Syria. Omran's sons have a fight with a classmate.

5th Episode

Qamar grows jealous of Karima. As fire breaks out in Fatma's house, Gharib is accused of killing her after his gun is found next to her body. Ass'ad insists on Gharib's innocence and tries to warn him not to return to the village. Shams is hired at the hospital. Omran's sister looks for a job.

6th Episode

Saber admits to Ziad that he robbed Fatma and killed her. When Gharib meets Omran and the neighborhood people, he feels that the neighborhood is familiar. When Omran sees Qamar planting spellwork in front of the house doors, Umm Omran grows wroth and tells Qamar to go back to her family.

When Qamar's father, Ezzo, grows furious that she resorted to sorcery, she reminds him that he forcibly wed her to a man older than him then to Omran. Gharib bashes his head against a tree when he learns about Fatma, which restores his memory. Karima tries to figure which of the children is her own.

8th Episode

Shams finishes her surgery and calls her family to assure them. Karima notices that Omran's mother favors Omar to Omran. Ass'ad suspects that Saber tipped off the police that Gharib is at Ass'ad's house. Gharib asks Abu Mar'ei to find him a job in the silk market.

Khadija and Karima are suspicious of Dr. Shams. Qamar is saddened that her father wants her to return to Omran's house. Abu Mare'i hosts Gharib in his house. When Saber kills Ahmed, the latter's brother, Ass'ad, breaks down. Wahida warns Shams about Fou'ad.

Years after she went to Lebanon, Omran's aunt returns without her son Adel, who got lost 7 years ago. Abu Talal is transferred to the hospital. Marwan sees Shams at the hospital and learns that she is not engaged. Talal treats Gharib badly.

Omran tries to find his cousin in Beirut. When he learns that Gharib is in the silk market, Ziad decides to kill Gharib and steal his money. Qamar harrases Omran's cousin, Sabah, out of jealousy.

Qamar is worried that Sabah is in the house. Fou'ad confesses his feelings for Shams. Ziad sells his house and looks for Gharib to kill him. When Omran decides to wed Shams, Khadija gets angry and revolts.

Karim asks Umm Ma'rouf (Ma'rouf's mother) to try and figure out the identity of Karima's son from Umm Fathy. Gharib recounts his story to Abu Talal. Abu Talal rebukes Ramzy for Shehada's attempt to drive a wedge between him and Omran.

Ziad tells Shehada that Gharib is a murderer and that he has money. Sabah refuses to wed Omran and asks her mother to leave the Levant with her. When Fou'ad comes onto Shams, Omran beats him. Sabry insists on returning to Egypt, but Magda tries to stop him.

To protect Sobhiya's son, Umm Abdullah refuses to reveal which boy is Karima's biological son. As Abu Talal and the rest of the merchants look for Omran, they learn that he's at the police station. Shehada plots to rob Gharib. Omran insists on wedding Shams despite his mother's objections.

Umm Ma'rouf insists that she won't wed Qamar's father unless his wife approves the marriage. Seif gets engaged to Afifa, Omran's sister. Shehada asks Gharib to pay bloodwit (diya), but the latter threatens to expose the truth about him and take revenge on Saber. Both Fou'ad and Shehada are arrested.

Omran tries to convince Shams to wed him. Abu Talal and Gharib arrange for the latter to tell Omran that he is his brother at Seif and Afifa's wedding. As the truth about Gharib comes out, Shehada kidnaps Omran's sons and threatens to kill them.
