As the businessman Bill Henrickson tries to juggle keeping his three wives happy, he prepares for the opening of his second hardware superstore. Bill also has to deal with the unsettling news about his father's health.

In an attempt to protect himself from Roman's threats, Bill wants to install a security system at his homes. Things heat up between Frank and Bill, as an old feud between them sheds light on their troubled relationship.

Nicki resumes her extravagant lifestyle by trying to throw a lavish birthday party at a hotel resort for her young son Wayne. Barb tries to keep the neighbors from finding out the family's secret.

As Bill has a bad dream, he finds the answers he's looking for when he goes on a hunting trip with Ben. As Nicki's spending gets out of control, she's having trouble fending off her creditors. Joey tells Bill important information about Roman.

Nicki becomes suspicious of Bill and Barb's behavior. Bill and Don conspire against Roman by reporting him to the attorney general. The other wives are concerned when Margene befriends her neighbor Pam. Nicki announces happy news to the family.

As Frank's first wife, Roberta, dies, Bill attends her funeral, while making Roman a settlement proposal. Barb lends Nicki a hand after facing a problem at Home Plus. Lois sees herself as the First Wife, now that Roberta is gone.

Bill is considering launching a new marketing campaign. Roman gives Bill his answer to his proposal. Peg exposes Nicki's credit problems to Barb. Roman kicks Bill's mother, brother, and sister-in-law out.

Bill finds himself overwhelmed after Frank, his wives, and Joey move in with him. Nicki discovers that she's not the only one who's having debt problems. As Bill's legal situation gets worse, he makes Roman a final settlement offer.

As Nicki tells the truth about her debt to Bill, she exposes a shocking secret about Roman. Margene finds out that Nicki was against Bill marrying her. Don is infatuated with a potential fourth wife, Betty.

As Barb's sister, Cindy, comes on a surprise visit, she expresses her disapproval of the family's polygamist lifestyle. Ben takes his relationship with his girlfriend to the next level. As Teeny's baptism approaches, Margene makes an important decision.

Barb competes to win the Mother of the Year award. Roman exiles Ernest to punish him for helping Bill. The wives are considering different custody scenarios in their separate wills. Bill is offered to be a member of the Salt Lake City Leadership League.

As Barb attends the Mother of the Year award ceremony, a surprising turn of events shatters her dream of winning. Bill's plot against Roman comes into play during the board meeting. Joey reveals a shocking discovery about Wanda.
