In 2040, a grandmother recounts her memories to her grandchildren. Working as a journalist with her husband, she grows jealous when a new colleague catches his eye. After a big fight, Ali wakes up tied to the bed.

Engy is promoted due to Ali's tardiness and her first decision is to deduct his pay. She returns home to the news that he is suffering from a breakdown that has him cross-dressing and breaking furniture.

Upon waking up, Engy is pampered by Ali who also plays with their children and keeps her company. Her boss informs her that she is getting a weekly column.

Engy is nowhere to be found when her boss needs a journalist to cover a story. Her friend Kamilia volunteers but it turns out the story is about a harassment incident. Kamilia is harassed and beaten when she tries to get a statement from the victims' families.

After Engy writes an article about the lack of romance between married couples, she returns home to find a bouquet of roses waiting for her. But it turns out it was meant for her neighbor Heba, leaving Engy bereft.

When Ali takes some time off work, Engy convinces him to help with housework since their maid is taking time off as well. Engy and Kamilia plot to prolong Ali's leave of absence so he shoulder the housework for a while.

Engy comes home to find that her children got a cat. Her neighbor Dr. Samir advises her to accept the cat and share her care with the children.

After waking up in a panic. Engy seeks the counsel of Dr. Samir and his wife. Dr. Samir assures her that men tend to treat their wives differently when they are cheating. Despite Engy's initial tranquility in the face of Dr. Samir's words, she begins to suspect when Ali atypically flirts with her.

When Ali asks Engy to stop their children's private lessons and supervise their studies herself, Engy grows despondent as exhaustion sets in and Ali's lack of help grates down on her.

Engy's son informs her that his school requires each student to have a personal android phone. Kamilia surprises her with a new dress.

When Dr. Samir and his wife Ragaa have a fight that end in Ragaa asking for a divorce, her neighbor Manal offers her a guest spot on her television show where Ragaa ends up swearing off men.

Engy is kidnapped alongside her neighbors Heba and Manal. Ali is ready to ransom his wife back. But the three women have been kidnapped by mistake.

Heba's maid goes to Engy for rescue from Heba's intended punishment. Engy's maid takes time off, leaving Engy to do all the housework which proves too much for her. She asks her mother for help.

Engy's attempt to escape her kidnappers fail. She tries to reason with the gang's leader, promising to write about him if he releases her and her neighbors.

When Engy and Heba complain about their housework load, Ragaa advises them to use a maid service that charges Engy five thousand pounds. Engy likes her new maid but the maid turns out to be a thief.

Engy asks Manal and Heba to accompany her to Shiekh Mezher who alleges that Engy is bewitched.

Getting fed up with her children's preoccupation with their phones and Ali's attachment to his mobile games, Engy writes about the internet and the communication revolution.

Engy is mad at Ali for cyber-cheating. She asks to use Sameh's account to converse with Ali online and Sameh agrees.

Engy prepares to write an article to uncover the falsehood of Manal's television show. She offers Manal an interview with a known "drug dealer".

Expanding on the idea of revealing the falsehood of television programs, Engy launches a Youtube channel and airs her interview with Manal. She prepares for a new episode about demonic possession and sorcery.

Engy has a recurrent nightmare about Ali divorcing her which leads her to slap him upon awakening every time. She tells Ragaa and Heba who advise her to see a psychiatrist.

A chance meeting between Engy and Nermeen when Nermeen goes to see Dr. Samir leads to speculation that Nermeen, a celebrity, is pregnant. Engy's boss asks Sameh to report on the news but Engy objects.

A staff meeting with a human resources development expert leaves the staff marveling at her beauty. Dr. Samir is advised by a friend to renovate his practice.

Ali and Sameh partner up to write and sing popular songs respectively. A new look and the success of their first song leads for requests for more songs.

Engy gains a lot of weight after taking a leave of absence. Depressed and struggling, she sequesters herself in her house.

Ali and Engy both write articles about corruption, specifically in the dairy industry in Engy's case. Ali encourages her to run a press campaign against dairy factories.

Engy is shocked to discover that the person staying with her is not Ali and asks to talk to the real Ali. She informs Kamilia and Dr. Samir that Ali has been kidnapped.

During Solly's birthday celebration, he sees his sister talking to one of his friends. As a part of two identical twins, Ali holds both brothers in Samir's apartment.

When Engy goes to see Dr. Samir, she discovers that she has lung cancer. Engy hides her illness from her family.

Ali asks his editor to collect Engy's articles under the name "The Diaries of A Very Fed Up Wife" to commemorate her memory. Engy's father tells her that cancer runs in the family. Engy discovers that her tests were mixed with another patient's and that she is fine.
