Artist Laura Edwards, who doesn't believe in laws and regulations, decides to homeschool her 9-year-old son, Danny. After he gets in trouble with the law, the judge orders him to be sent to a Christian school. There, a love attraction is developed between Laura and the married headmaster, Dr. Reverend Edward Hewitt, despite their different beliefs.
