A case of demonic possession leaves two priests struggling to figure out a way to exorcise the powerful entity that has hold of a little girl. But the exorcism proves to be more complicated than originally thought, unleashing unspeakable horrors on everyone involved.

As a series of murders that look to be the work of a dead serial killer sweep the city, a police officer tries to figure out how that's possible. His investigation leads him to a mental patient who bears a striking resemblance to Father Damien Karras, who supposedly died during an exorcism.
The film revolves around Reverend (Merrin), who leaves the church and heads to work as an archaeologist in Africa. When (Merrin) is asked by an antiques Dealer to bring an artifact from a buried church, he finds a great evil there. He must regain his faith first in order to fight it.
Father Lankester Merrin's faith is tested when he takes part in an archeological project in East Africa, as he discovers an ancient church buried in the desert with a porthole to evil.
