After a brutal attack leaves him disfigured, the scientist Peyton Westlake uses his research for synthetic skin to take on a persona called the Darkman to take his revenge on those who ruined his life.
When Darkman finds out about the survival of his nemesis Durant, he must return to foil the plots of the nefarious Durant, who gets his hands on a deadly laser that he plans to use to seize control of the drug trade in the city.
In a desperate attempt to get money to fund his experiments on synthetic skin, Darkman ends up stealing money from the ruthless criminal Peter Rooker. As Rooker sets out to have control over Darkman's powers, he sends an attractive doctor to find out the source of his super strength.
