After Cathy Jamison (Laura Linney) gets diagnosed with cancer, she begins to make major changes to her life as she juggles being a teacher, mother, wife, and sister. She starts exploring her life again, allowing her family and some new friends to support her as she copes with her terminal diagnosis, and finds both humor and pathos in the many idiosyncratic relationships in her life.
