Jess gets sacked from her job as a teacher. Meanwhile, Schmidt organizes a party at Nick's pub. After drinking some of Nick's fruity concoctions, Winston shows a new side of himself. Schmidt gets to know Robby, Cece's new lover.

Jess grows an interest in felting and cooking odd dishes. A guy at the bar accidentally thinks Jess is his blind date, but she doesn't mind and spends the night with him.

Jess is uneasy about having a relationship that lacks emotions. Schmidt impersonates one of Mitt Romney's sons in order to attract ladies, but he finally gets exposed.

Jess spends some time with her vicenarian neighbors, but Schmidt finds it difficult to fit in. Meanwhile, Nick plays a trick on Schmidt.

Jess is so annoyed with Cece's model acquaintances, after which she attempts to mend fences with Cece and intervenes when the latter fails to perform her job as a model in a gig. Meanwhile, Schmidt is having problems with Nick.

Nick is getting ready to meet up with Amelia, a girl he liked in college. As Jess starts a job at a spook house on Halloween, she invites Sam and tells him that she seeks a romantic relationship.

The boys tell Jess she needs to obtain a job since she can't afford the house's rent and utilities. Nick goes out with a quiet man in the park who teaches him how to control his anger. Cece wishes to rekindle her relationship with Schmidt.

On Thanksgiving, Jess attempts to patch things up between her parents, Bob and Joan, who arrive at her place for a celebration.

When Jess learns that one of her friends is pregnant, both she and Cece get concerned that they still haven't gotten the chance to have children. Schmidt seeks guidance on how to make Emma happy.

Winston assists Jess in buying a bathtub. Schmidt tries to be reunited with Cece, but he still worries about his relationship with his employer, Emma. Nick encounters a woman who is having problems with her boyfriend.

On Christmas Eve, the group attends multiple Christmas parties. Sam makes an attempt to win Jess back. Nick feels terrified by Angie's blatant sexuality. Cece rebuffs Schmidt after he confessed his feelings for her.

Jess realizes it was a bad decision when she invited Nick and Angie to accompany her and Sam on a cabin retreat. Meanwhile, Winston discusses race relations with Schmidt.

Jess tries her hardest to mend fences between Nick and his con artist father who shows up unexpectedly; meanwhile, Nick is suspicious that he's being used in his father's gambling scams. Schmidt seeks help from Robby to get back together with Cece.

Nick goes undercover at Jess' creative writing class after becoming concerned that one of her students is keeping a sinister secret. Meanwhile, Schmidt and Winston try to figure out what is being said about them when they are not present.

The boys leave Jess at home and hang out with some ladies, but when Jess suspects that something wrong is going on outside, she calls the boys to get back home.

The group goes to a dating convention, where Cece expects to meet a suitable suitor; meanwhile, Schmidt seeks to be reunited with her. Jess and Nick find themselves in an awkward situation with Sam.

Schmidt devises a plan to obtain a new parking space in their building, which he shares with Nick and Jess. As a result, they compete for the parking spot. Nick and Jess get some alone time to talk about their relationship.

Jess grows fond of a professional football player. Nick and Schmidt disagree on the arrangements of the party celebrating the 10th anniversary of their being roommates. Prior to their scheduled marriage, Cece and Shivrang begin to doubt their bond.

Jess struggles to tell Nick about her feelings. However, after professing her affections, she discovers that he may have been hiding a secret. As Schmidt gets concerned with purchasing a lionfish, everyone sees it as a way for Schmidt to escape his unresolved affections for Cece.

With a death in Nick's family, Jess, Schmidt, and Winston accompany him to Chicago to assist him with the funeral arrangements. As soon as they arrive, they meet his noisy family members, particularly his mother, Bonnie.

Nick and Jess go on a first date, but things don't go as they expected. When Schmidt and Winston suspect that a full-fledged relationship is in the works between Jess and Nick, they step in to try to spoil the date.

While Jess organizes a bachelorette party for Cece, the guys hang out with her fiancé, Shivrang. In order to find a date to accompany him to Cece's wedding, Schmidt turns to his ex-girlfriend.

Jess, Nick, Schmidt, Winston, and Cece tell each other how they lost their virginity, which they realize has a direct impact on their present lives.

Nick spends some time alone with Jess' father who shows up unexpectedly. Schmidt is hesitant whether to tell his pals about reuniting with his ex-girlfriend, Elizabeth. Winston wishes that his friends will remember his birthday.

Nick and Jess must determine whether or not to continue their relationship. On her wedding day, Cece informs Schmidt that she doesn't want to go through with it. Elaine, Shivrang's ex-girlfriend, spoils the wedding, prompting Cece to admit her true emotions for Schmidt.
