As Leon Alastray, an outlaw, arrives in the village of San Sebastian with a priest, a murder and a misunderstanding leave the villagers thinking that Leon is the priest. Despite his attempt to clear things up, Leon eventually embraces their view of him and sets to inspire them to fend off marauding Indians.
