The Roman Emperor, Octavian, takes Rome as the headquarters of his empire, and his rival, Mark Antony, takes the Queen of Egypt, Cleopatra, as his lover. Mark also cut off from the Roman Empire the Eastern part, which is Egypt, and makes Alexandria the seat of government. Octavian intends to regain Egypt, so he lands his army in Alexandria and besieges the city, and war breaks out between the two.
