It's Mazen and Samar's wedding anniversary, and everyone is preparing for a big party to celebrate the occasion. Mazen takes on an important new project with Sulafa, who admires him.

Mazen complains to Nidal about Sulafa staying with him all the time at work. He tries to deal with her formally, but she keeps dealing with him in a way that makes him feel uncomfortable.

Mazen begins to give in a bit to Sulafa's constant seduction, and Samar suspects that something is wrong with Mazen.

It turns out that what Sulafa is doing with Mazen is a bet between her and Raghda, and she decides to up the game with Mazen, who is forced to apologize for not being able to join his family for lunch, and the children suspect something is wrong. Raghda feels guilty and decides to tell Samar.

Samar stays in her family's house as she is angry at Mazen and his whim. Sulafa's father learns of her relationship with Mazen. The children try to understand what is happening between their parents, and Nidal tells Mazen about Sulafa's bet with Raghda.

Samar's brother, Ramez, learns of what happened between her and Mazen. Everyone is preoccupied with Zine El Abidine Ben Ali's escape from Tunisia after the revolution. Mazen and Sulafa hold their engagement party. Sami is arrested on charges of taking part in the demonstrations.

Sulafa's father's efforts succeed in getting Sami out of prison, and the latter insists on continuing his revolutionary activity, which causes disputes to erupt among the family.

Mazen decides to alert Samar to what is happening in the ministry. Majed decides to liquidate his work in Syria in anticipation of what might happen, while Sami continues his revolutionary activities.

Samar admonishes Sami for implicating his sisters in some dangerous revolutionary activities. Sohail sneaks into the family home to hack into the computers of Mazen's children, upon which Mazen tries to secure his children's devices.

Samar submits all the documents related to Minister Hisham in order to have him exonerated. Majed asks Mazen to take over the management of his business, and the latter receives a threat from Sulafa's ex-husband and enlists Majed's help to get his family out of the country.

Mazen is forced to agree to run Majed's business in exchange for helping his family escape. A unit tries to hack Mazen's device to no avail, and Mazen's family members prepare to travel to Paris.

A decision is issued to prevent Samar from traveling abroad without the permission of the authorities. Mazen finishes signing all his contracts to take over Majed's business, and Sulafa helps him. Mona is severely beaten by her husband until she falls off the stairs and hits her head.

Mona lies in the hospital in a coma, and Mazen stays next to her all the time. Samar gets permission to travel as a favor, and Mazen decides to settle his pending affairs with Sulafa.

Ali and Qamar, who live in Damascus, are preparing to return to their conservative village after she completed her studies. Qamar's family holds a celebration for her and decides to open a clinic for her in the market, while Ali is unable to meet her.

Qamar begins her work in the new clinic, while Ali is unable to meet her due to the constant supervision of her family; moreover, he discovers that Salem has abandoned his leftist beliefs for the sake of his interests with the Islamists.

Qamar approaches her father about marrying Ali, and he thinks about the matter, but the mother objects to her marriage because she considers him unsuitable for her.

Qamar's father asks Salem about Ali, and he says bad things about him, but the father decides to meet him and attends a seminar in which Ali talks about the civil state.

As the father is angry at Ali’s opinion on the issue of the civil state and considers it an infidel opinion, he rejects the marriage completely and closes the discussion.

Ali receives a French guest, who buys a statue from him and offers him to travel to France. Qamar's father decides to buy a mobile phone for his daughter with a new SIM card.

Salem tells Ali to meet Qamar at the castle tomorrow. Qamar's father gets angry when he finds out that his daughter does not use the mobile phone he bought for her in order to monitor her. Ali is fired from his job.

Ali decides to travel to Paris with the intention of never returning. Salem courts Qamar in order to marry her, and the latter agrees to the marriage without hesitation, after which he begins to exercise control over her.

Salem continues to insult Qamar and beats her severely, and her mother is terrified of the effects of the beatings. Ali settles in Paris but then decides to return to his town again.

Ali returns to his family in the town. Qamar's father is fed up with Salem's bad treatment of Qamar, who flees the entire town and asks her father to send her her divorce certificate.

Salem enlists his sheikh's help to mend fences with Qamar, who insists on a divorce. When events erupt in Syria, extremist groups take over the town, and Ali is imprisoned.

Samer lives in a coastal town frequently visited by tourists and vacationers, to whom he sells fruits, crackers, and sweets on the beach with his older brother, Muwaffaq.

Abu Muwaffaq (Muwaffaq's father) asks his son to volunteer to join the forces with his brother-in-law. Samer and his companions plan to slip out on Abu Hussein's boat.

Samer and his companions board the boat. Muwaffaq searches for Samer everywhere and gets angry at him a lot when he finds him. Samer gets close to Abu Hussein.

Samer approaches an attractive vacationer named Soraya and decides to fulfill her requests. He also spends time with Abu Hussein at sea while fishing, and the latter tells him about the town in the past and his memories.

Abu Hussein tells Samer about how he won the boat in an arm-wrestling match with Laila's husband. Umm Muwaffaq (Muwaffaq's mother) is happy when Samer brings her some fish. Abu Hussein continues to recount his story with Laila when she ate fish with him.

Hanan's husband, Mahmoud, quarrels with his parents-in-law. As Samer asks Abu Hussein to finish telling him his story, Abu Hussein tells him how he found himself in the City of Gold. Muwaffaq learns that he has to do his military service.

Abu Hussein tells Samer about what happened to him in the City of Gold, and he, in turn, tells his sister Fadwa and also recalls his meeting with the old lady and her story about the stranger who came many years ago to the City of Gold.

Samer decides to work for Abu Wael as an additional job. Abu Hussein tells of his attempt to thwart a robbery in the City of Gold.

Everyone is preoccupied with the current events in Syria. Samer learns what can get Fadwa out of her psychological state that pushes her to stay in her room. Abu Hussein implements his plan to prevent the thief from stealing gold from the City of Gold.

Fadwa decides to get out of her room, and Samer thinks she drowned, while she ends up in the City of Gold. Muwaffaq discovers that he is tasked with suppressing peaceful demonstrations and is killed by his brother-in-law.
