In Sinaloa, Mexico Teresa Mendoza's life forever changes when she falls for the drug dealer Güero. But when he gets murdered, Teresa is forced to flee from his former cartel and travels to Dallas, Texas.

After she rescued Teresa in Mexico, Teresa must prove her loyalty to Camila Vargas by doing a dangerous job. In Mexico, the cartel is still looking for Brenda.

Camila tasks Teresa with a major drug operation to test her loyalty, while she plots to seize control of Epifañio's cartel. Brenda plans to escape from the cartel sicarios.

Teresa's first solo drug run takes a deadly turn. Epifañio sends Cesar to kidnap Teresa after finding out that Camila is hiding her. Brenda escapes to Dallas with Tony.

Teresa tries to look for Güero's notebook. In an attempt to keep herself safe, Camila returns to Mexico. James continues to look for Teresa.

Camila's operation must go underground after she teams up with the Jimenez cartel. Teresa and Brenda want to start over now that they have Güero's notebook.

Teresa and Brenda make a dangerous extortion attempt. Camila makes a bold move to overtake Epifañio's empire.
