When Mahran is late to work after being pursued by some men seeking to kill him for a blood debt, Maher intervenes to help him. Farida sends her men to kill Selim, who is testifying against her in a case that became a matter of public opinion.

As Selim's lawyer, Khalil, visits the stationery store where Maher works to print a motion for Farida Al-Helaly's case, one of the latter's men arrives at the stationery store. Khalil leaves his bag with Maher before meeting with Farida, who offers him money in exchange for the evidence that Selim has.

Despite his mother's opposition, Maher marries Maha in order to protect her from her stepfather, though they keep the news from everyone. Khalil avoids Farida after she threatens him. Maher moves Khalil's bag to his apartment, but he soon hides in Abu Daif's apartment when Selim goes missing.

As Farida's men pursue Khalil, the latter escapes with Mahran, leaving them to break into Maher's house and kidnap him along with Maha and Karima. Farida offers Maher a large sum of money in exchange for giving up Khalil's location.

Maha betrays Maher and allies with Farida for money. As Farida's men kill Mahran, they also try to kill Khalil, but he gets rushed to the hospital. Maher misses when he tries to shoot Farida, landing him in prison.

Maher continues to be detained after he refuses to reconcile with Farida. Maha starts her new job in Farida's company. Despite his paralysis that left Farida in charge of the company, Fahd visits the company. Maher meets the wealthy man, Shakwy, in prison.

As she tries to avoid Umm Maher (Maher's mother), Maha moves into Akram's apartment. Fahd digs into Maha's past. Maher finds out more information about Shawky and the drugs that were found in his house. Umm Maher meets with the lawyer, Emad, to hire him to defend Maher.

When Farida discovers that Khalil is alive, she sends her men to kill him at the hospital, but Abu Daif saves him. Maher is sentenced to four years in prison.

Maha allies with Fahd, who discovers that Farida has been taking his money. Carmen meets Maher after the latter promises to help Shawky with his case. Farida fires Maha.

With Maha still living in Akram's apartment, Akram gets a prisoner to threaten Maher to divorce Maha. Maher offers his fellow inmates legal advice. As Khalil wakes up from his coma, Farida's assistant strangles him.

Jalila informs Maher of Khalil's death. Mahran's relative shoots Farida to take revenge on her. Maha steals a bag of money from Akram's office and flees. Maher asks Emad to help him study law.

Farida plots revenge on those who tried to kill her. Emad gives Carmen some documents that can help with Shawky's case. When Maha delivers the money to Fahd, he promises to secure her divorce from Maher. Maher demands to see Maha to divorce her.

The police arrest Karima as she tries to strangle Farida. Maher sends his fellow inmates to Emad's office as he prepares the documents for their cases. Shawky gets acquitted.

Carmen gives Maher's reward to Nadia. As Maher divorces Maha, he plots to get Abu Daif imprisoned so that he could eavesdrop on the ward containing important prisoners, all to help Hassan with his embezzlement case. Shawky gets transferred to the hospital.

Jalal gets close to Maha to get information on Farida and Fahd. As Emad defends Karima, he manages to get her released. Maher falls for Carmen.

As punishment for betraying him, Fahd locks Farida up and injects her with sedatives. Abu Daif reveals that the prisoner Kamal is selling information about currency prices and the stock exchange. Maher fakes Nadia's death so that he could get out of prison.

As Maher gets out of prison, he visits Shawky and Carmen at the hospital. Abu Daif asks Maher for Nadia's hand. Karima's son passes away.

Carmen warns Emad that Jalal is trying to seize Shawky's fortune. Akram plots with Maha to get her to marry Fahd and take his money. Jalal works with Akram to get rid of Shawky and Fahd.

As Akram kills Shawky, Carmen asks for an autopsy to be performed, but Jalal beats her and locks her in her house. Akram confirms that Farida is in a bad condition. Jalal threatens Emad to give him some documents that belong to Shawky.

The prison warden asks Maher for legal advice regarding his inheritance. Jalal replaces Shawky in the deals the latter was making. Maher orders Emad to monitor Jalal and Carmen so that he could help the latter.

Emad tries to get close to Jalal. Maher is guilt-stricken over the death of Mahran's son. As Maher starts looking into the warden's case, he asks Emad to start a company with the money that Nadia got from Carmen.

Kamal offers for Maher to become his partner in exchange for leaking information about currency prices. Emad asks Jalal to meet Carmen to sign the documents giving up her father's fortune to Jalal. It's revealed that Gharib is working with Akram.

As Carmen signs the documents, Maher uses his connections in prison to figure out a way to save her from Jalal. Abu Daif gets released from prison. Maher discovers that Maha is Fahd's secretary.

Farida grows more hostile. Fahd proposes to Maha. As Carmen learns that Jalal is a drug addict, Jalal admonishes her as he enters a new deal with Fahd.

When Farida discovers that she is being drugged without her knowledge, she stops taking her medicine and steals a phone. Carmen manipulates Jalal and fakes her agreement to marry him. Maher confesses his feelings for Carmen on a TV show.

As Jalal's assistant stabs Maher, the latter gets rushed to the hospital. Farida gets close to Jalal's sister. As Maher's release date looms closer, a new prison warden arrives.

As Carmen visits Maher at the hospital, she confesses her love for him. When Maher is returned to prison, the new warden sentences him to solitary confinement.

The warden, Hashem, claims that Maher has tried to break out of prison. As Gharib is left in charge of Fahd's business while the latter is away, Maha threatens to expose him. Carmen tells Gharib that she wants to be in direct contact with Fahd. Karima gets herself committed to the same institution as Farida.

Jalal takes his sister Lamiaa out of the institution. Carmen meets with her father's partner, Tawfik. Kamal is released from prison. Emad promises Maher financial compensation.

As the prison staff testify in Maher's favor, he gets released from prison and rushes to save Carmen from Jalal's clutches.
