Someone kills Ali when he catches him red-handed while robbing a house. The murderer asks the people of the neighborhood to support what he has done. Ali leaves behind four sons who are thieves as well.

The brothers go to the mosque and ask the Imam about a way to earn an honest living, and he tells them that trade is profitable. They steal shoes, sell them, and bring food for their mother, who discovers that they stole the shoes from the mosque.

The policeman who killed Ali comes to apprehend his children and does not find them. Their mother begs him to leave them, but he refuses and he and his men start looking for the brothers.

The policeman catches the four brothers and interrogates them. Their mother goes to the police station to ask the Officer to pardon them, and he approves as Mona goes home to check on them.

The Hajja gets sick and the doctor finds that she has high blood pressure and asks her to rest completely. One of her children decides to earn a living by helping the youth immigrate illegally to Russia.

The children ask their mother for their right to their father's inheritance and she tells them that he left nothing. She is mournful because they want to sell the house and split its money.

The Lieutenant goes to the Hajja's house and gives her groceries in an attempt to get close to her; she thanks him. As for her children, they think about a project idea. Two of the children start having romantic affairs.

Zainab works as a waitress in a cafe, and a neighbor tries to harass her. As for her brothers, they are with their friend Atwy, and their mother tries to check on them.

The Hajja visits her husband's grave and complains to him about her children and what they did to her after his death. She cooks couscous and invites her neighbors to eat, while the children defraud the tourists to earn money.

A foreign girl comes and stays with the Hajja and Zainab, and the Hajja tries to teach her how to pose as a true Moroccan woman. The grocer admires the girl. Meanwhile, the brothers are still scamming tourists.

The foreign girl has become the center of attention for all the men of the neighborhood, but the Officer suspects that she is a spy. The Lieutenant waits in front of the Hajja's house, hoping to see the girl.

The girl prepares her suitcase; the Hajja gives her some things and Moroccan food. the Officer goes to say goodbye to her. As for the Hajja's children, they work and earn money, and one of them goes to visit his mother.

Zainab goes to the market and someone at the cafe tries to harass her. Her neighbor tries to hit him, but the man hits Zainab and takes her to her home, where Zainab's brothers see him and they hit him.

The young man is taken to the hospital and asks the Hajja to help him propose to Zainab in exchange for pardoning her children in front of the police. The Lieutenant goes to the cafe to have it sealed.

The boys disguise themselves as they enter the hospital and ask the young man not to file a complaint against them. However, when the Officer goes to him, he tells him what they did and they are arrested.

After Zainab learns that the doctor is engaged, she goes to the young man and tells him that she accepts to marry him, while her brothers are in prison and her mother is grieving over what happened.

After Zainab gets married, she feels disgusted with her husband. She asks him to drop the complaint against her brothers who remain in prison, while the Lieutenant tries to get close to the Hajja.

Zainab wants to resume her job in the cafe, but her husband refuses and locks her up in the house, while her brothers try to find a way to get out of prison. When the Officer learns about his daughter's relationship with one of Zainab's brothers, he beats her up.

Zainab escapes and goes to her mother, but her husband catches her and takes her back home. The Officer receives a letter from an unknown person, and the Lieutenant goes to the fortune-teller in order to find a way to marry the Hajja, Fatuma.

An unknown person sends a disk to the Officer to make him lose his nerve. Zainab lives with her husband against her will, and the Lieutenant tries to help Fatuma and buys her household goods.

The children get out of prison, and their mother receives them with joy. When they learn about Zainab's marriage, they go to her house to take her back with them, and they find her husband in the company of a strange big man.

The brothers confront the big man but he hits them all. Zainab is locked in her husband's house waiting for her brothers to take her out, and their mother is angry because they failed.

The brothers disguise themselves as women and go to the jeweler to scam him and steal the gold, and the stranger finds out about it and tries to expose them but he can't. Zainab is still suffering from her husband.

The man goes to Zainab and tries to calm her and convince her to stay with her husband, while the brothers are still disguising themselves and deceiving people, and the Officer is trying to catch them.

The hospital where the doctor works burns down, and Lobna feels sad and she suspects her boyfriend, Zainab's brother, to be behind it. But Zainab tells her that her husband is the culprit, and the Officer investigates the case.

The doctor goes to Fatuma's house and asks about Zainab and her situation with her husband, and she tells him how much she's suffering. As for her children, one of them works as a teacher and another sells fish.

The doctor goes to Aisha’s son and tells him that he was the one who burned the hospital, so he kidnaps him with his friend. Zainab’s brother goes to her, and she thinks he has come to take her with him.

Fatuma's son is upset after he finds out that she's working as a maid at the Officer's house. As for her son, who became a friend of Aisha’s son, she disowns him, and his brothers quarrel with him, while the doctor and the Lieutenant are sad in the cafe.

On the day of Zainab's wedding, all of the people of the neighborhood gather at the party, but Zainab's brothers are prohibited. Fatuma goes to the stranger and tells him that Zainab is his daughter, how come he's willing to let her marry Aisha's son.

Fatuma is taken to the hospital, but she dies because of her grief for her daughter. All the people of the neighborhood attend her funeral and console her children. The Officer becomes lenient with her kids.
