Dr. Louis Creed and his family move from Boston to a small town in Maine. His daughter, Ellie, comes across a cemetery in the woods, which is haunted by an evil spirit that resurrects the dead, called the Pet Sematary. When Ellie dies in a car crash, and despite warnings from his neighbor, Jud, not to approach the Sematary, Louis's longing to see his daughter again might take him just there.
