Eight years after he is acquitted of murder, Sevvy finds himself facing another murder charge. The prosecutor in his first case, whose career was ruined after her defeat, is recruited to help bring him down.

Ezra implements a plan to get the media on Sevvy's side. A new viable suspect threatens to derail Maya's investigation. Sevvy zeroes in on a possible suspect for the murder.

Maya recruits Sevvy's mistress to dig up information on him. When Ezra is found out to have arranged an alibi for Sevvy, Maya delivers a threat that sends him after her.

Ezra delivers a blow to Maya's public image. Sevvy's children grow doubtful of his innocence. Maya deduces that they have a mole in their midst.

Ezra and Star try to get ahead of Gabe as he offers to cooperate with Maya. A new suspect brings Maya close to Sevvy's fixer. Collier goes on a hunt for the mole.

With Sevvy in the wind, a new player emerges to save the day. Jessica's sister takes matters into her own hands when the law disappoints her. CJ and Riv look into the matter of Maya's stalker.

Wiest uses Loni to manipulate Ezra. The emergence of a piece of evidence reveals a possible complication in the form of a cop with a vendetta against Sevvy.

With Maya's safety on the line, a guilt-stricken Loni comes clean to her about her manipulation of Ezra. Maya's team deliberate the validity of their evidence in light of North's willingness to tamper with evidence.

Sevvy digs into Jessica's past, which poses an unexpected hurdle to Ezra's plans to get him acquitted. CJ investigates Maya's stalker and devises a plan to bring him down.

As the trial draws to a close, Ezra makes a final plea of his client's innocence to Maya. Wiest makes a sudden announcement that derails Maya's attempt to find out the truth.
