The special agents of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service must hide their real identities as they hunt down dangerous criminals that threaten national security.

In the aftermath of Kate's death, the team struggles to cope as Gibbs pursues revenge with a single-minded focus. Mossad agent Ziva David is assigned to the team, forcing all of them to reckon with Kate's loss and the fact that life must go on.
