When her mother marries Abu Fathy (Fathy's father), a helpless Wedad complains to her grandfather, who wants her to stay with him. Diab wants to wed Wedad, whose brother insists on taking her back home.

Adel tells Wedad it's impossible for their father to return after all those years, but he assures her that their mother is saving their father's money for when they grow up. Abu Fahmy (Fahmy's father) wants to wed Wedad, and Adel's grandfather refuses to wed him to Salwa.

Abu Sobhy tells Adel that his father is soon to return. Umm Adel (Adel's mother) recalls how Abu Adel (Adel's father) used to mistreat her. Fathy tells Wedad he loves her, but his father opposes their marriage. Diab threatens to sabotage Salwa and Adel's wedding ceremony if Wedad doesn't wed him.

Umm Fathy (Fathy's mother) believes it's Umm Adel who drove a wedge between Abu Fathy and his son. Abu Diab (Diab's father) warns his son against ever annoying or threatening Wedad. Adel and Salwa get engaged, and the police arrest Diab for firing gunshots. Sobhy returns to his homeland.

Sobhy wants his children to stay with him, and he gets upset when Adel defends his mother and Abu Fathy. Abu Fahmy tells Abu Fathy that Sobhy wants his wife back. Sobhy then decides to buy a house.

Salwa convinces Adel to apologize to their father. Sobhy prepares to move into the new house with his daughter, which Laila begs him not to do. Fakhry's cousin returns and vows revenge on Sobhy, believing that Sobhy killed Fakhry's brother. Diab and Wedad get engaged.

Diab tells his mother that he left the laboratory to work with his uncle instead. Sobhy and Abu Zaky plot to ruin Abu Fathy's business deals. Sobhy threatens to kill Abu Fathy if he doesn't divorce Umm Adel. Wedad is forced to wed Diab.

Salwa begs Diab not to kill Abu Fathy. Wedad promises to wed Fathy if he convinces his father to divorce her mother. Sobhy and Abu Zaky plot their revenge on Abu Fathy.

Abu Zaky reports to the police that Abu Fathy killed Sobhy, but Abu Fathy claims that it is Abu Sakhr who killed him. Wedad has a mental breakdown when her father is killed.

Sobhy's murder is investigated, while Abu Hamed tries to convince Abu Sobhy to accept the blood money. Abu Sobhy wants Adel to divorce Salwa. He asks Diab to murder Fathy. Wedad tells Diab she will marry him if he kills Abu Fathy instead of his son, Fathy.

Abu Fathy is imprisoned. Adel marries Salwa. As the years pass, Abu Fathy is released and he tries to find the murderer to acquit himself. Wedad renews her proposal to wed Diab if he kills Abu Fathy.

Abu Fathy learns that Abu Zaky is the only one who can prove his innocence. Adel is accused of trying to kill Abu Fathy. Abu Fathy is eventually acquitted, and Wedad accepts to wed Fathy.
