As Carrie tries to get the girls together for Charlotte's birthday, Samantha and Richard make a spectacle out of it. Miranda grows self-conscious about her weight. Samantha battles doubts about Richard's faithfulness.

Samantha steps in to help Carrie as the latter resents the cover chosen for her new book. Miranda takes measures to lose the weight she gained while pregnant.

Miranda's new beau has trouble adjusting to her baby's presence. Carrie forms a connection with another author, only to discover an unpleasant fact about him.

Miranda is torn between her career and her responsibility as a mother. Carrie deals with the memories of a broken relationship when she encounters a face from the past.

As Carrie invites a bored Samantha along to her book signing, she ends up running into a former sweetheart. Charlotte falls into bed with the last person she ever expected to sleep with.

After attending a wedding together, Charlotte reveals her relationship with her lawyer as Carrie reunites with Jack Berger.
