Uma Thurman is an American actress who was born in Boston, Massachusetts on the 29th of April, 1970. Throughout her long, successful and eclectic acting career, Uma has assumed leading roles in a great variety of films ranging from romantic comedies to action to science fiction and drama.
Thurman began acting in the 1980s and despite a few disappointments in the early 1990s she eventually found great success in Quentin Tarantino’s “Pulp Fiction”. The title was a massive commercial success and Thurman received an Oscar nomination for her role. The rest of the 1990s saw her acting in a variety of films including “Gattaca” where she starred opposite her future husband Ethan Hawke.
After the birth of her first baby in 1998 Uma took a brief hiatus from acting in order to concentrate on her child. Shortly after her return to acting in 2003 Uma Thurman collaborated with Tarantino once again and assumed the leading role in “Kill Bill” volumes one and two. The title became a major success and earned Thurman many awards and nominations.
