An American actress and model, born on September 14, 1922, in Birmingham, Alabama. She moved to Los Angeles with her mother after her father died of tuberculosis. Frances met Edgar Bergen at the age of 19 and married him in 1945, and he was 20 years her senior. She participated in the movies American Gigolo (1980) and The Muppets Take Manhattan (1984). She also participated in the series Murphy Brown, starring her daughter Candice Bergen. Frances died on October 2, 2006 at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, at the age of 84, after a long struggle with illness. |
