An American actor, born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, in the United States of America. He graduated from Edison High School in his hometown. Robert initially intended to become a professional boxer, but he was forced to give up the sport due to the injuries he sustained and a car accident in his teenage years. He decided to enter acting through the New York State Theater in the late seventies of the twentieth century, after studying at The New York Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he presented several plays, such as Rebel Without a Cause, The Rainmaker, and Death of a Salesman, before heading to the film industry, so his cinematic debut was in Dances with Wolves (1990), with the director Kevin Costner.
