An American actor, born in New York, United States. He began his acting career on Broadway in New York before breaking into the world of cinema. However, he maintained his presence on stage throughout his artistic career. He joined the American forces in WWII, and he survived the direct clashes at the time with the German forces. He is known for Dog Day Afternoon (1975) and The Final Countdown (1980). He was nominated for two Oscars in the category of Best Supporting Actor, in addition to receiving many Tony Awards for the play and an Emmy Award. He married twice and had three children. He passed away in New York. |
