An Indian writer, actor and director, born on the 13th of April 1956 in Dhanounda Village, Mohindergarh District, Haryana, India. He grew up in Delhi, Naiwala. He graduated from Kirori Mal College, New Delhi. He went to National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi, where he graduated in 1978. He later studied at Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. He started his career as an assistant in the film Masoom (1983). His first film as an actor was Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993) starring Sridevi. He won Filmfare Best Comedy Actor Award Twice: in 1990 for Ram Lakhan and in 1997 for Saajan Chale Sasural. |
