Scottish singer and actress, best known for her singing in the rock band Garbage. She moved her singing career between the United States of America and Scotland, and resides in Los Angeles. She began singing while she was still a teenager as a back-up singer in the Scottish band Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie, then became a member of the band very quickly, after that the production company encouraged her to work alone. The band Garbage invited Shirley to be with them, so she wrote songs and produced an entire album with the band. She won many awards, and sold more than 12 million copies around the world. In 2006, she wrote solo songs and began her acting career. She appeared in the final season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (2008). She then appeared in the movie Knife Fight (2012).
