She is an American producer, writer, and actress, born on August 3, 1979 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She is a graduate of Harvard College, where she majored in American history and literature . During her college years, she began improvising with a group called "the Immediate Gratification Players," which inspired her interest in comedy. She relocated to Los Angeles and worked as a writer. She is known for Booksmart (2019), Celeste & Jesse Forever (2012), and Black-ish ( 2016-2017).
