During her college years, she began improvising with a group called "the Immediate Gratification Players," which inspired her interest in comedy. She relocated to Los Angeles and worked as a writer. She is known for Booksmart (2019), Celeste & Jesse Forever (2012), and Black-ish ( 2016-2017).
