American actress and singer, born in Boston, Massachusetts in the United States of America on February 10, 1981. She is the daughter of Nigerian parents from Anambra state. She grew up in Medfield, Massachusetts and graduated from Medfield High School in 1999. She studied classic music at Boston University. She obtained her first role in the play Translations of Xhosa (2003) at Olney Center for Theater Arts and received a nomination for the Helen Hayes Award as Best Supporting Actress. She is known for Orange Is the New Black (2013). |
