American literary critic, author, poet and one of the pioneers of American Romanticism born on January 19, 1809 - October 7, 1849. He was famous for writing short stories and horror literature. His life was a continuous misery, abandoned by his father and his mother and raised by another family. He became addicted to alcohol after the death of his wife and died early at the age of forty. His body was found dumped in the street wearing clothes that do not belong to him, and the mystery still surrounds the secret of his death to this day as all the medical records related to his death have suspiciously and mysteriously disappeared from the hospital to which his body was transferred.
