An American actress, born in New York City, New York, USA, on October 16, 1917. She won an Emmy Award in 1966 for the television series Bewitched (1964). She married writer John Rox (1948-1957), and when he died, she married actor and director Paul Davis (1964-1966), with whom she remained until her death. Among her most notable films are On the Town (1949), The Thrill of It All (1963), and Kiss Me, Stupid (1964).
Alice Pearce was the only child of a bank's vice president, moving with him to several European countries, where she received her education. She returned to America at the age of 15 to join Sarah Lawrence College in New York, graduating in 1940. Her work in a nightclub led her to work in Broadway theaters, then she joined the cinema in the mid-forties, appearing many musical comedies, through which she achieved remarkable success, and then she gained more fame through her television work. She died on March 3, 1966 in Hollywood, California, USA, of ovarian cancer.
