American actor, born in Jacksonville, Florida, USA on August 14, 1927, as David Jack Holt. He was also a singer, dancer, and songwriter for film, television, and theater. He was a manager and partner in a music publishing company, and in the early 1960s worked in real estate in Southern California. He began acting at the age of 6 and composing at the age of 14. He quit acting by the age of 25. He was married and had four children. His notable works include: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1938), Walk the Dark Street (1956), and Beau Geste (1939). He died in San Juan Capistrano, California, USA on November 15, 2003, of congestive heart failure.
