A German actress, singer, and songwriter, born and raised in the city of Erfurt in the German state of Thuringia, then moved to the city of Leipzig to continue her career in music. She began her singing career at an early stage. In 2000, she participated in the debut season of the singing competition series Stimme 2000, where she came in second place. She studied music at the Music Academy in Leipzig for two years, then continued her acting career in the series Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten. Her fifth single, "Für dich," became an international number-one hit and spawned the equally popular album Meine Welt in 2003, marking Catterfeld's breakthrough musical achievement.
