She graduated with an MA in screenwriting in 2010 from the London College of Communication at the University of the Arts London. She made her debut in 1975. She appeared on stage at the Oxford Playhouse and the National Theatre. She is known for Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day (2008), Miss Potter (2006), and Doctor Who (1963).
