He made his acting debut on Slattery's Hurricane (1949). His notable works include Playhouse 90 (1957-1958), Al Capone (1959), and Beau Geste (1966). His final appearance was in How Rare a Possession: The Book of Mormon (1987). He married three times and had two children. He died of chronic obstructive lung disease on 30 August 1989 in Utah.
