An American actress, born in Brooklyn, on January 17, 1891.She is an American stage, film, and television actress. Her grandfather and brother were clergies, and she learned diction and composure from her mother. Which helped her play the roles of upper-class community leaders, flight attendants, social climbers, and arrogant bloodsuckers. She attended Packer Institute and Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. She began her artistic career in the Dove of Peace choir in 1912, and her first role was on Broadway the following year. Her major works: The World Changes (1933), Chained (1934), Wife vs. Secretary 1936 and One More Tomorrow (1946). She never got married, and died in 1977 of pneumonia at the age of 86.
