An Egyptian writer, director, and film critic. He started his career as a renowned art journalist then made his postgraduate studies in screenwriting and directing at the High Cinema Institute. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1958, then began his writing career in 1966,...Read more by preparing programs and writing for radio drama, then turning to cinema. His writing debut was adapting the novel We Don't Sow the Thorns into a film in 1970. He wrote several screenplays that were based on literary work and novels like Coward in Love (1975) and Her Majesty's Tears (1992), both written by author Moussa Sabry.
