An Iraqi actress, director, and academic researcher, with many works in cinema, theater, and on television. She earned a diploma in acting, a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Baghdad, an MA in Theater Direction from the University of Baghdad, and a PhD in Theater Direction from the University of Baghdad. She is a founding member of the Theater Critics Association in Iraq and a member of the Iraqi Artists Syndicate, among several other accomplishments. She has received many awards and certificates of appreciation, including the Best Actress Award for the Theatrical Season of 1985 from the Iraqi Center for Theater and the Creativity Award from the Ministry of Culture and Information for her performance as Lady Macbeth in 1998. She received more than 120 certificates of appreciation for her work as a researcher and theater critic from cultural forums, intellectual seminars, and theater festivals. She wrote and directed for the Iraqi National Theater many plays, including House of Sorrows (1997) and O Birds (1997). She wrote and directed for the Baghdad Radio many cultural and dramatic programs and series. She also wrote many series and TV special for Iraqi TV and for TV production companies. She continues to write reviews, theorizations, and studies in the field of theater in Iraqi and Arab newspapers, such as Almada.
