Joel Hopkins is a British film director and screenwriter who was born in 1970 in London, England. Although Hopkins was born in England he attended university in New York.
Whilst a student at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Hopkins made a short film titled “Jorge”. The work lead to him winning the Wasserman Award which entitled him to 100, 000 dollars as a grant for developing a film.
Hopkins used the award’s money to finance the filming of “Jump Tomorrow” – a work which was to receive good reviews from critics in addition to winning several awards. Hopkin’s latest work, “Last Chance Harvey”, premiered in 2008 and also received glowing reviews from critics.
