She was a pop-singer and actress who was born on August 9, 1963, in Newark, New Jersey. She began singing as a child in the junior gospel choir at church and was a fashion model in the early 1980s before she became a professional singer. She released several successful albums and appeared in a number of films, most notably The Bodyguard (1992), where she also performed hit singles, including "I Will Always Love You" and "I Have Nothing". Whitney received numerous accolades, including eight Grammy Awards and 22 American Music Awards. She was married to singer Bobby Brown from 1992⁠ till ⁠2007 and they had one daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown. She passed away on February 11, 2012 in Beverly Hills, California, at age 48.
