An American actor and producer, born on January 26, 1949 in San Francisco, California. He made his debut in the series Another World. Among his most notable films are Good Night, and Good Luck., for which he was nominated for an Oscar in 2006, and The Bourne Ultimatum, Lincoln, and Godzilla.

David Strathairn is an American film and stage actor best known for portraying the evening journalist Edward R. Murrow in "Good Night, and Good Luck." (2005), a performance that earned him an Oscar nomination. He also played CIA Deputy Director Noah Vosen in "The Bourne Ultimatum" (2007), which he reprised in "The Bourne Legacy" (2012). Recently, he's played Civil War Secretary of State William Henry Seward in Spielberg's "Lincoln" (2012). Strathairn was born in San Francisco, California, in 1949. After attending Williams College in Massachusetts, he trained to be a clown at the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College in Venice, Florida, and then worked as a clown in a traveling circus. Strathairn is known to be a character actor, powerfully realizing characters like Ashley Judd's psychiatrist in "Twisted," Meryl Streep's husband in "The River Wild," and Kim Basinger's pimp in "L.A. Confidential." Strathairn is also an accomplished and veteran stage actor and has participated in productions since the 1980s.
