A Senegalese actor, born in Dakar, Senegal. He worked as an interpreter at an American air base in Dakar during the Second World War, after which he traveled to Marseilles, France, and lived for three years in Paris. He then went to England, where he served for two years in the Royal Air Force. He attended RADA and appeared in various plays from 1958.
He played stereotypical roles in British films, including East of Sudan (1964), Khartoum (1966), and The Last Safari (1967). In hopes of getting better roles, he moved to the US. He had small parts in the films A Warm December (1973) and Uptown Saturday Night (1974), both directed by Sidney Poitier. He also worked in TV shows such as The Human Jungle, Z-Cars, and Gideon's Way. He died on 14 September 2006 in California, USA.
