Indian actor, born on July 20, 1950 in Barabinki, Uttar Pradesh. He completed his studies at Anselm's Ajmer and Joseph's College. He graduated from Aligarh Islamic University and then attended the National School of Drama in Delhi. He started his career with Nishant (1975) in which he played the role of the son of a landlord (Amrish Puri). The film was nominated for one award. In 1980, he won the best actor award for his movie Aakrosh (1980) in which he presented the role of a lawyer, and after a year, he won again the same award for the movie Chakra. He won the Best Actor award at the National Award in the early eighties for two films, Sparsh (1980) and Aar Paar (1985).
