A Canadian-American actor, born February 11, 1926, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. He participated in World War II and later became a DJ at Calgary radio station. He moved to New York after receiving a scholarship at the Neighborhood Playhouse, and studied theater and music, and in 1950 he made his first appearance in the series Studio One. Nielsen started working on movies, such as Forbidden Planet. He has participated in numerous movies and TV series, the most famous of which are the movie Airplane!, and the comedy film series The Naked Gun. He died on November 28, 2010. |
