A Colombian-Canadian film director, born on September 19, 1976 in Bogota, Colombia. His debut feature film, La Play D.C., premiered at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival and was selected as the Colombian entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards. He attended most of his high school in Bogota but won a scholarship to complete it in Vancouver, Canada. Following his high school graduation, he studied cinematography and television at the National University of Colombia where he directed and wrote the screenplay for his first film, Eloisa y las Nieves, as his thesis. His works include The Seven Last Words (2019).
