A screenwriter, film director, and film producer from Bosnia and Herzegovina who was born in Zenica in 1969. He studied piano at the Music Conservatoire of the University of Sarajevo. He joined the defense forces and served in a film team to highlight the atrocities of war. He moved to Brussels and completed his studies in 1997. He presented a number of documentaries in Belgium. His debut No Man's Land (2001) won the Screenplay Award at the Cannes Film Festival. He won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film in 2001 and won 42 international awards. He is known for Triage (2009). |
