Mohamed Hosni Mubarak was born on May 4, 1928 in Kafr Masilha, Menoufia Governorate. He graduated from the Military College and then joined the Aviation College. He was married to Suzanne Thabet in 1959, and was survived by his two sons Gamal and Alaa Mubarak. He appeared as a flight instructor in the film Farewell at Dawn (1956). He was the commander of the Air Force during the Israeli-Egyptian war in 1973. Mubarak was the fourth president of the Arab Republic of Egypt from October 14, 1981 until he stepped down on February 11, 2011 after the January 25 revolution of the same year. He passed away on 25 February 2020.
